The role is responsible for performing objective, independent, and reliable assessments of the effectiveness of a bank’s risk management activities, its compliance with applicable regulations, and its internal control-environment and provide assurance to the management and the Board.
Responsibilities
- Provide inputs during development of annual activity plan in collaboration with Head of Internal Audit to ensure effectiveness of risk management controls and governance processes in the bank.
- Provide inputs for review and development of Audit Charter and Audit Programs in collaboration with Head of Internal Audit to ensure they are aligned with market best practice and statutory requirements.
- Carry out audit and investigation functions in line with auditing standards to ensure there is staff compliance to Bank’s existing manuals, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
- Participate in review of existing and new computerized systems, information systems technology and infrastructure in collaboration with Head of Internal Audit to ensure compliance to established procedures and efficiency of systems processing and other operations.
- Review existing and new Bank Operating Manuals, Systems manuals, processes, and procedures in collaboration with immediate supervisors to ensure they are adequate.
- Monitor issues and recommendations raised in internal audit reports to ensure business units implement them timely.
- Collect inputs for evaluation of technology risk and provide independent assurance to management to ensure appropriate risk mitigations are put in place.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by immediate Supervisor.
Requirements
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from any recognized University and relevant professional qualifications (CPA/ACCA/CIA)
Experience Required:
A competent candidate with a minimum of 3-5 Years’ working experience in the field of banking, finance, financial audit or accounting.
